The Stone Seer
In the mountain kingdom of Kar Drathis, the blind are said to see more than the sighted. Dara has been blind since birth, but when she touches stone, she sees visions of the past and future etched into the very rock. The Stone Seers were once the most respected order in the kingdom — advisors to kings, keepers of the deep history carved into the mountains. But the order was wiped out fifty years ago by a king who feared their prophecies. Now Dara is the last of her kind, hidden in a remote village, pretending to be an ordinary blind girl. When a young prince arrives at her village in exile, Dara touches the ground and sees a vision of the kingdom in flames. The prince's uncle has seized the throne and is mining the sacred mountains for an ancient power buried deep within the stone. Dara must decide whether to remain hidden or embrace her gift and warn the prince of the catastrophe to come.

✎ Editor's Review
Maren Holloway crafts a quiet, thoughtful fantasy about the burden of foresight. Dara is a beautifully realized protagonist whose blindness is neither obstacle nor superpower but simply part of who she is. The stone-reading magic system is evocative and well-integrated into the plot. A slower-paced novel that rewards patient readers with genuine emotional depth.
