Zero Hour
Dr. Elena Vasquez is a CDC epidemiologist who has seen outbreaks before. But when a cluster of mysterious deaths appears in a small Arizona town, she realizes this is different. The victims are dying within hours of showing symptoms, the disease does not match any known pathogen, and the town itself seems to be at the center of something much larger. As Elena races to identify the pathogen, she discovers that it was engineered — deliberately designed to be deadly and contagious. Someone has released a biological weapon in rural America, and the clock is ticking. With the help of FBI Agent Tom Reeves, Elena must trace the weapon back to its source before the outbreak spreads beyond containment. But the people responsible are powerful, well-connected, and willing to kill anyone who gets too close to the truth. Zero Hour is a pulse-pounding thriller about the worst-case scenario in modern medicine: a weaponized plague with no cure.

✎ Editor's Review
Sandra Park's medical thriller is a page-turner that wears its research lightly. Elena is a compelling protagonist whose scientific expertise drives the investigation rather than being an obstacle to it. The biological weapon plot is terrifyingly plausible, and the race-against-time structure creates genuine tension. Agent Reeves is a good counterpart whose FBI perspective complements Elena's medical one. The villain's motivation is slightly underdeveloped, but the thriller mechanics are rock-solid. Recommended for fans of medical and bio-thrillers.
